Signing emails

Before you start

Open Thunderbird email client

Connect Cryptoucan to the computer

Write the email

Click the Write a new message option

That’s on the front page of Thunderbird

Email composition window will pop up

Fill out all the information

Click the Sign button

Click the pencil symbol in the top bar of the window

The pencil symbol stands for Sign message

Click Send

Enter PIN

Enigmail will ask you to enter your PIN

This is done using Cryptoucan’s keypad

Enter User PIN1

Confirm the PIN

By pressing the hexagon button in the bottom right corner of the keypad

And the email is sent

Once the PIN entry window disappears

Check the signature

Open any signed email

Any signed email that you’ve already received

The signature will appear in the header of the email

Green color of the signature means the signature is trusted

And that’s it!
