Encrypting and Decrypting emails

Before you start

Open Thunderbird email client

Connect Cryptoucan to the computer

Write the email

Click the Write a new message option

That’s on the front page of Thunderbird

Email composition window will pop up

Fill out all the information

Click the Sign button

Click the lock symbol in the top bar of the window

The lock symbol stands for Encrypt message

Click Send

Manually choose key

Enigmail Key Selection window will pop up

Check the key you need

Click the Send button

And the email is sent

Once the Key selection window disappears

Decrypt email

Open any encrypted email

Any encrypted email that you’ve already received

Enigmail will immediatelly ask you to enter PIN

This is done using Cryptoucan’s keypad

Enter User PIN1

Confirm the PIN

by pressing the hexagon button in the bottom right corner of the keypad

And the email is decrypted

You can see it was decrypted in the header of the email

And that’s it!
